Allergic Skin Reaction
An allergic skin reaction represents the way the body responds to an invasion or a foreign substance entering inside, known as an antigen. Typically, the immune system thereafter protects the body from such harmful agents, like toxins or bacteria. An overreaction to a harmless substance though results into an allergic skin reaction or a hypersensitivity reaction. An allergen could be dust, pollens, certain medications, foods, plants, insect bites, animal dander, bacteria or viruses. While the allergic skin reactions could take the form of a small skin rash, face bumps or itchy eyes, depending upon the body’s immune system reaction, which could be unpredictable at times.
