Anal Cancer

Anal Cancer refers to a certain form of cancer that arises from the anus, which is the distal orifice of the GI (Gastrointestinal) Tract. It is must different from the otherwise commonest form of cancer, colorectal cancer. Again, the etiology, clinical progression, staging, risk factors and treatment are completely different. Anal cancer is basically a squamous cell carcinoma which erupts around the squamocolumnar junction. The most known signs and symptoms of anal cancer include bloating, change in bowel movements, rectal bleeding, a lump or mass near the anus, discharge or itching. Women would generally face pain or discomfort in their lower back owing to pressure exerted by the tumor on the vagina, as well as dryness around the area.
