Angiofibroma

Angiofibroma or juvenile angiofibroma is a vascular mass that develops in the behind portion of the nasal cavity, usually in adolescent males. There is a significant flow of blood through the tumors and the result is a massive nosebleed which occurs frequently. Due to the presence of a mass in the back of nasal cavity, there may be a chronic nasal discharge or nasal obstruction. In some cases, these masses push themselves into the surrounding regions putting pressure on the Eustachian tube. As a result, there is a buildup of fluid behind the eardrum. This may lead to hearing loss in the affected person.
