Blackhead and Whitehead

The microcomedones turn into non-flammable skin blemishes known as comedones. They are either blackhead or a whitehead. A blackhead forms when a pore open on the surface of the skin and the oil sebum gets blocked while going towards the surface. The blockage is caused either by dirt or debris or by hardening of oil. Therefore, the sebum undergoes oxidation and turns dark in color. Blackheads do not get washed away and can last for a long time since the materials in it drain slowly to the skin’s surface. Whitehead forms when the trapped oil sebum in the duct and the bacteria lie below the skin’s surface. Whiteheads appear to be tiny white spots. Sometimes they are tiny enough to be invisible to the naked eye.
