Brushfield Spots

 

The Brushfield spots are abnormal spot like structures on the periphery of the iris. They appear in small white or greyish brown colour. This condition is quite common in case of children and they may also take place in form of chromosomal disorder dsown syndrome. These are usually termed as the focal areas of stromal hyperplasia as they are being normally surrounded by hypoplasia. The condition of Brushfield spots is more common with people who usually have lightly pigmented irises. When it is caused you can clearly discern the condition well in the eyes.
