Cellulitis Face

Facial cellulitis or cellulitis of the face is a type of skin infection which occurs on the face. This infection is usually characterized by swelling, redness, warming and pain. It is caused by different types of bacteria but the most commonly affecting ones are streptococcus or staphylococcus. The risk factors include infection in upper respiratory system, lymphatic system and middle ear or teeth inflammation. The other symptoms include chills, fever, irritation and swollen, tender tongue. Antibiotics are essential for the treatment and prevention of facial cellulitis. Severe complications can follow if the infection is left untreated for long time.
