Chordae Tendineae
The Chordae Tendineae is a sort of a tendon and it acts as the connecting medium of the papillary muscles to other organs like the tricuspid valve and the mitral valve. These are organs mainly located in the heart. This part of the body is eighty percent collagen and the rest twenty percent is made up of elastin and also the endothelial cells. The main role of the Chordae Tendineae is that of a pressure gradient. This particular organ only stays relaxed when the atrioventricular valves are opened forcefully. It also has an indirect role to play in controlling the movement of the heart.
