Condyloma

Condyloma refers to the infection of the genitals, which is why it is also commonly known as genital warts. These are soft, wart-like growths that occur on the skin as well as mucus membranes of the genitals among both men and women, due to Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Condyloma is also considered a form of Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). There are many different types of HPV that causes condyloma and could be traced on the penis, vagina, vulva, urethra, cervix, larynx, and in and around the anus. Condyloma should only be treated directly by a doctor, who may either prescribe a medication like Imiquimod, Podophyllin and podofilox and Trichloroacetic acid to be applied at home, or surgical treatments like laser therapy, cryosurgery, electrocauterization and surgical excision.
