Congenital Glaucoma
Congenital glaucoma is referred to as an assortment of eye conditions that damages the optic nerve which is responsible for carrying visual details from the eye to the brain. Many a times, the damage to the optic nerve is caused owing to excessive pressure on the eye, the condition is also called Intraocular Pressure (IOP). Congenital glaucoma is a hereditary medical condition that often runs in families and is present since birth, resulting from the abnormal growth of the fluid outflow channels inside the eye. Common symptoms include cloudiness of the front of the eye, widening of one or both eyes, red eye, tears and sensitivity to light.
