Crohn’s Disease
Crohn’s disease refers to the inflammation or swelling of the digestive system, and also constitutes one of a group of diseases, known as inflammatory bowel disease. It may affect any area of the body, from the mouth to the anus, and mostly the lower part of the small intestine, referred to as the ileum. The disease has been identified to be running in some families. The symptoms may range from diarrhea to pain in the abdomen, apart from bleeding from the rectum, joint pain, weight loss, fever, intestinal blockage, malnutrition, and skin problems. An ideal treatment could be a combination of medicines, nutritional supplements and surgery.
