Cystic Acne
Cystic acne is a very serious form of acne vulgaris and is characterized by painful nodules or acne cysts. These cysts form due to the blockage of sebaceous gland which burst open introducing inflammation and formation of pus in the surrounding tissue. The tissue infection takes place under the skin when the blocked infectious and unwanted waste is not discharged. As a result, the acne cysts produce long-term scarring of the skin especially when the acne cysts are not treated on time. Cystic acne can develop in any part of the body especially the face, shoulder and chest areas.
