Digitate Dermatosis
Digitate Dermatosis is also known as ‘chronic superficial dermatitis’ or small plaque parapsoriasis’ and is characterized by chronic, inflammatory skin lesions appeared on the skin in different portions of the human body. These chronic patches firstly appear on the skin with one or more scaly patches. These patches are generally of oval or red and slightly scaly which affects the lower limbs mainly but it also occurs sometimes in upper limbs and trunk regions. It seldom affects the face, palms and soles. The chronic patches are generally of 2.5m in length and are slightly wrinkled, but dermatologists have not found the proper reason of this disease and it generally affects men (especially adults). The symptoms of Digitate Dermatosis include itchiness and they become more prominent in winter season. Simple treatment like ‘topical steroids’ to reduce itchiness and phototherapy are some treatments available. After treatment the disease temporarily stops or may be cured permanently. It can even reappear at the same place after being cured for the first time.
