Eczema

 

Eczema refers to a chronic skin disorder which basically involves itchy and scaly rashes. The term is often used interchangeably to indicate a common skin condition called atopic dermatitis. Other types of eczema include hand dermatitis, seborrhea dermatitis (dandruff) and nummular dermatitis. Eczema broadly signifies a group of skin conditions causing the skin to become swollen, itchy and irritated. It generally runs in families and is most common in infant babies. Eczema can also lead to hay fever or asthma. There is often a familial history of allergic conditions such eczema, asthma or hay fever. Common symptoms include blisters, ear bleeding, raw areas on the skin due to scratching, skin redness and skin color changes.
