Endophthalmitis

 

Endophthalmitis is a condition where there is a swelling within the eyeball. Infection from bacteria or other microorganisms result in the occurrence of Endophthalmitis. It can also be caused due to complication of the cataract or some other type of eye surgery which may also result in loss of vision. Endophthalmitis is accompanied by some symptoms which include pain in the eye, redness, loss of vision, redness of conjunctiva. Inflammation may also be experienced in other areas of the eye. There may be a presence of Hypopyon in the Endophthalmitis and therefore, it must be looked for with examination.
