Erythema Annulare Centrifugum

 

Erythema Annulare Centrifugum (EAC) describes a skin lesion or a disease wherein circular red spots occur on the skin and spreads from the center or centrifugum. There have been different alternative terms to EAC, such as annular erythema, erythema gyratum perstans, erythema perstans, erythema gyratum repens, erythema figuratum perstans and darier erythema. EAC, an acute circular and gyrate injury, majorly affects upper arms, buttocks and thighs among other areas of the body. Initially the sports are small and pinkish in color, which gradually turns large and red. Common symptoms include lung problems such as lymphoma & tuberculosis, swelling, itching and other diseases like malignancy, infection and systemic illness.
