Gingival Cyst

 

Gingival cyst is a form of cyst that is a derivative of the odds and ends of the dental lamina located in the attached gingival, irregularly generating superficial erosion of cortical plate of the bone. In simpler words, it is one kind of cysts that develops in the gums of one’s mouth. These are not really considered harmful as most of them break open by themselves. They appear bluish in color and do not grow more than 1 cm in diameter. Once these cysts are removed they do not tend to grow back. An oral surgery might be suggested to remove these cysts but they generally are unnecessary as they not harmful.
