Goiter
Goiter is a form of swelling that occurs in the thyroid gland, which ultimately leads to the swelling of the neck. Goiter does not occur until your thyroid gland is functioning properly. Over 90% of goiter cases occur due to the deficiency of iodine. The symptoms of goiter sometimes are hard to analyse and discover. However, goiter is not linked with hormonal disorders and thus not causes any symptoms at all apart from the presence of swollen neck. The worldwide, common known cause for such condition is the deficiency of iodine. If the goiter is small and is not really visible, your doctor might suggest you to just wait and take no medication. However, biopsy , surgery and radioactive iodine treatment are the other possible medications for goiter.
