Heart Disease

Heart disease, as the name suggests, constitutes several diseases that affects the heart. Medically the term is called a cardiopathy or a cardiac disease. Heart, the center of the cardiovascular system, pumps blood into the body’s cells by passing through the blood vessels, carrying oxygen required by the cells, of the body. In a heart disease, both the heart and blood vessels stop functioning normally as they should. Some common problems associated with a heart disease include arteriosclerosis, atherosclerosis, angina, heart attack and stroke. The risk factors that contribute to developing a heart disease include old age and hereditary factors (both cannot be controlled), and smoking, overweight, high blood pressure and irregular exercises.
