Hemiparesis

Hemiparesis is a condition where one side of a person’s body is paralyzed instead of weakness. Hemiparesis or brain damage is caused due to head injuries, abnormal cell growth in a person’s brain or any disease which causes the weakness of the muscles. Muscles weakness is observed in the side of a person’s body corresponding to the side of the brain that has been injured. A person’s spinal cord may be damaged as a result of trauma where he has been subject to injuries due to car accident, fall or a blow received in a fight. Some conditions such as multiple sclerosis and some other forms of cancer may cause lesions on the spinal cord of a person leading to improper functionality of the nerves.
