Hyaline Cartilage
Hyaline cartilage contains a thin, sticky yet a firm mass of significant elasticity and pearl blue in color. It does not consist of nerves or blood vessels, while the structure of a hyaline cartilage is very simple. It is externally covered by a fibrous membrane known as the perichondrium, excluding the articular ends of bones and not the location where it is found directly under the skin, for e.g. nose and ears. The membrane consists of vessels responsible for providing nutrition to the cartilage. A thin slice examined would contain two or more, rounded or firmly angular cells in a complete homogenous matrix.
