Leiomyoma
Leiomyoma, also called uterine fibroids or fibromyoma, refer to benign tumors developed in the womb or uterus, during the childbearing age of women. Though rare in women under 20, leimyoma can be found in half of women by age 50 and most commonly among African Americans as compared to Caucasians. The growth of these uterine fibroids is associated with the estrogen hormone. If a woman continues to menstruate with leimyoma, it would continue to grow at a slow pace. Leimyoma, or simply fibroids, are very tiny that a microscope is needed to view them, but can grow very large over time.
