Lymphoepithelial Cyst

The cyst can be seen in any internal/external part of the body. Lymphoepithelial cyst (LEC) of the pancreas is a rare lesion of undetermined pathogenesis that had been documented almost exclusively in males. The oral LEC develops within a accessory tonsil of the orla or pharyngeal mucosa. They are the movable keratin filled follicles. The LEC is lined by atrophic and often degenerated stratified squamous epithelium, usually lacking in rete processes and demonstrating a minimal granular cell layer. This cyst has a clinical appearance similar to that of a epidermal cyst. Conservative surgical excision may be a diagnosis procedure for the disease.
