Morton’s Neuroma

An enlarged nerve that occurs between third and the fourth toes is known as Morton’s Neuroma. Morton’s Neuroma is also been called by other names like Morton’s metatarsalgia, planter nueroma, intermetatarsal neuroma and Morton’s Nueralgia. Burning sensation in the forefoot continuously is found to be the basic symptom of Morton’s Nueralgia. Unfitted shoes, high-heeled shoe which provides pressure to toes and uncured injuries in foot will be the causes of Morton’s neuroma. Two major injections Orthotics and Corticosteroid are used to cure Morton’s neuroma. Depending upon the severity of the problem the treatment approach will differ. Little non-surgical treatment will be considered like Padding, Icing, Orthotic devices, activity modifications, shoe modifications, medications and infection therapy.
