Oral Hairy Leukoplakia
It is a disease associated with the mucosa. Here a white patch develops on the sides of tongue and giving a hairy appearance. It can be said as the mouth’s reaction to severe irritation of the mucous membranes. This condition is a severe defect of immunity and is associated with persons affected by HIV. The presence of white patches is the first sign of this condition, which may develop, harden and become rough in due course of time. Biopsy may be needed to clearly diagnose the condition. This disease is generally painless and harmless, it disappears in few weeks or months.
