Ovarian Cancer

It is a type of cancer that originates from the ovaries and is the fifth most common cancer in women. Most of this cancer is epithelial, arising from the epithelium of the ovary and often goes undetected until it has spread into other organs like the pelvis and abdomen. Older women and late pregnancies have higher risk of ovarian cancer. There is no specific signs and symptoms in the early stage of the cancer. The cause behind this disease in most of the cases is unknown. Certain studies show that breastfeeding reduces the risk of certain types of ovarian cancer. Surgical removal is the cure in most cases.
