Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer or pancreatic carcinoma is a type of cancer which affects the pancreas. The pancreas is a large organ situated behind the stomach. It is responsible for preparing and releasing enzymes which assists the body in absorbing foods. Pancreas is also responsible for releasing hormones called glucagon and insulin. These hormones help in keeping control over sugar levels.The exact cause for pancreatic carcinoma is still unknown, however this type of cancer is more seen in obese people and smokers. Pancreatic cancer is more common amongst women than men. The risk for developing this cancer develops with age.
