Renal Veins

The veins that connect the inferior vena cava with the kidney and play an important part of draining the kidney are known as Renal veins. These veins are singular to each of the kidney and are divided into two divisions once it enters the kidney. The anterior branch receives blood from the anterior part and the posterior branch receives from the posterior part. The vein in the left is longer than that in the right as the inferior vena cava is on the right side of the body. The left renal vein receives the veins like inferior phrenic vein, suprarenal vein, testicular vein and 2nd lumber vein as the inferior vena cava is not laterally symmetrical. On the contrast the light renal vein directly drain into the interior vena cava.
