Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma
Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma is a malignant tumor that grows slowly in the abdominal region and displaces the other organs rather than destroying them. There is no distinct part that can be pointed out while explaining retro peritoneum as it is defined as anatomical space in the cavity of the abdomen. This includes the adrenal glands, aorta, duodenum, pancreas, ureters, colon, kidney, esophagus and rectum. Liposarcoma in any of these parts are malignant and they are the most radiosensitive tumors with soft tissues. The symptoms generally include enlarged abdomen and its discomfort, abdominal mass, asymptomatic at the early stage. This is termed as very rare disease and radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery are the only options of treatment.
