Scleritis

 

The inflammatory disease of the white part of the eye that acts as the eye guard is termed as Scleritis. This occurs mainly in young women who suffer from menstrual problem. The most common symptoms are redness of the conjunctiva and sclera, ocular pain that may spread towards the jaw or temple, photophobia and above all decrease in visual activity that tends to blindness. A paining eye ball can also be a reason for the infection along with continuous watering eyes. This may lead to a permanent damage to the vision system so infected person should immediately seek for a medical help.
