Strawberry Hemangiomas

 

Strawberry Hemangiomas are raised red or purple, marks on a baby’s skin. They are made of quickly dividing cells in blood vessels, usually on the skin’s surface, although they can be partially beneath the surface or even on internal organs. There is no identified cause for Strawberry Hemangiomas. They generally go away on their own as well as cause no harm. Irregularly a hemangioma will obscure eyesight otherwise interfere with other functions. In these instances, your pediatrician may give prescription with a steroid to slow the development. There is no prevention intended for hemangiomas, and your doctor will be capable to decide if it is something that requires treatment.
