Tongue Cancer
Tongue Cancer is widely known to be caused by squamous cell carcinoma, which is the cancer of the tongue’s surface tissue and the commonest cancers that can disturb many different body organs. Tongue cancer is a kind of oral cancer, caused due to use of tobacco or by smoking in about 70 percent of the cases. Not just the oral tongue may get affected, the repercussion may be witnessed on the portion once may stick out of the mouth or at the tongue base. Heavy alcoholism can also lead to developing tongue cancer. In fact, mouthwashes containing alcohol can also be dangerous. Oral tongue cancer can be treated through surgery, if possible, whereas, cancer of the tongue base is mostly treated through radiation therapy.
