Acne Scar

Scars on the skin are caused as a result of an injury, bruise or a wound. Scars are a part of the skin’s healing process. When the dermis of the skin is damages, scar formation takes place.Acne scars are caused as result of an inflamed lesion like a pustule, cyst or papule. The inflammation or bumps on the skin occur when the pore or follicle becomes puffed with bacteria, excess oil or dead skin cells. The pore starts swelling resulting in the breakage of the follicle wall. The lesion is minor and heals rapidly if the rupture takes place near the skin’s surface. However, serious lesions take place when there is a deep breakage in the follicle wall. The infection passes through the dermis thus destroying the healthy skin tissue.
