Breast Cancer
Breast cancer takes place in the cells of the breast when the cells start growing abnormally and uncontrollably. The breast tissue covers a large portion of the breast which in some cases may be larger than breast itself. The mass of tissue may extend up to the collarbone and may also spread across armpit to the breastbone. The breasts are located atop the chest muscles that encase the ribs. Each breast comprises of ducts, glands and fatty tissue. Lobules are glands which produce milk. The milk produced from lobules flow through a network of ducts (thin tubes) to the nipple.Cancer cells start within the duct or within the lobules thus causing the abnormal growth of cells. The most common type of breast cancer is Ductal carcinoma.
