Colon Cancer Picture
Colon Cancer or Colorectal Cancer begins from either inside the large intestine (called colon) or the rectum (called end of the colon). It has been recognized as one of the leading causes of deaths due to cancer in the US. An early diagnosis can though cure colon cancer completely. Common symptoms of colon cancer include abdominal pain, blood in the stool, narrow stools, diarrhea and unreasonable weight loss. Colon cancers mostly begin as benign polyps, but gradually develop into cancer. The known treatments include surgery for the removal of cancerous cells, chemotherapy for killing cancer cells, and radiotherapy for destroying cancerous tissue.
