Erythema Toxicum

 

Erythema Toxicum refers to a noncancerous skin condition, most commonly found in newly born babies, particularly between the ages of three days and two weeks. The exact cause of the condition is not yet known. It could be existent within the first few hours of life, mostly occurring after the first day and then may last for many days. The prime symptom is a small rash of papules, yellow-whitish in color, and is enclosed by red skin. The papules could be from a few to several in number that generally appear on the face and the middle part of the body. At times, erythema toxicum can also be found on the thighs and upper arms.
