Furunculosis
Furunculosis or boil is the infection of the hair follicles and the underlying tissues. The main cause for furunculosis is the bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus. Furunculosis looks like a small, tender, reddish bumps on the skin. The area surrounding the bump may be inflamed and swollen. The bump is filled with a thick, infected fluid called pus.Furunculosis can occur anywhere on the hairy area of the body. However, the most common areas are the face, neck, arms, armpits, buttocks and the area around the arms. They develop in area where there is friction or the sweaty areas. Boils occurs to anyone no matter their age.
