Genital Follikulitis
Genital folliculitis is a bacterial infection or inflammation of the hair on the genital area. The infection can be deep depending on the extent of the infection and may cause an inflammatory bump to form which surrounds the hair. A furuncle or a boil forms which consists of pus. It tends to break or discharge the unwanted or waste fluid. The deeper version of the boil or furuncle is the carbuncle which forms within many layers of tissues. Genital folliculitis usually affects the hair follicles in the genital area. It appears in genital areas such as the buttocks, thighs and groin.
