Kaposi’s Sarcoma
Kaposi’s sarcoma is a type of disease in which malignant or cancer cells present in the tissues in the mucous membranes or tissues in the skin, nose and even anus. The signs of KS will be diagnosed through examining the skin and lymph nodes. Kaposi Sarcoma causes purple or red patch, known as lesions on the mucous membranes and on the skin. This spreads to other organs too including the lungs, intestinal tract or liver. The treatment includes chemotherapy by intake of drugs, radiation therapy using x-rays, biological therapy using the immune system or surgery to remove it. Recovering is based on the type of KS one is diagnosed.
