Keratoacanthoma
It is relatively common type of skin growth, resembling directly with squamous cell carcinoma in its initial stage and often misjudged. It is believed to originate from the neck of the hair follicle. The growth is quick in first few weeks of appearance and not likely to spread to other parts of the body. The exact cause of the condition is not yet known. If left alone it may disappear within a year. Some factors include heavy sun exposure, contact with chemicals such as tar, smoking, infection by the strains of wart virus, a suppressed immune system and minor injuries to the skin.
