Livedo Reticularis
It refers to a condition in which dilation of capillary blood vessels and stagnation of blood within these vessels causes mottled discoloration of the skin. Usually occur on legs. It is described as a net-like appearance, surrounding pale central areas. It can be caused by any condition that makes the medium veins swell, making them more visible. The disease can usually be diagnosed by biopsy. In some cases it may occur as a side effect of certain medications, such as hydroxyurea (Droxia, Hydrea). If patient feels pain and discomfort or ulcers in the affected skin, he/she must see the doctor.
