Onychomycosis
It is the most common infection caused in the nails caused by fungus. It is also known as dermatophytic onychomycosis or the ring warm of the nail. It constitutes over half of all the nail problems found and its abundance in adults is about 6-8%. The nail becomes thickened, rough, a bit yellowish and cloudy like appearance. This defect t has four classes’ viz. distal subungual, white superficial, proximal subungual and canidial onychomycosis. The agents behind this are mainly dermatophytes, candida and nondermatophytic molds. As the infection is under the nail, it is difficult to give any treatment and in due course of time it gradually disappears.
