Pagets Disease
Paget’s disease is a condition where the bones are affected with the normal bones remodeling themselves. The normal possesses a balance of forces that enable new bone to take over old bone. This process is called as bone remodeling and is vital for maintaining the required calcium levels in the blood. A bone affected due to Paget’s disease may cause bone remodeling process to be disturbed and not synchronized. Thus, there is an abnormal formation in the bone which becomes large but not too dense making it brittle and easily breakable. The exact cause for Paget’s disease is still unknown. Some genes have been associated for the cause of Paget’s disease which also includes the Sequestrosome 1 gene on shromosome 5.
