Palmar Erythema

 

Palmar erythema is a condition where the palm reddens especially in the areas around the base of the thumb and the little finger. Numerous medical conditions are responsible for this disease and some people even experience reddening when they are normal. Some tests need to be followed when palmar erythema is detected in a patient in case the patient has no known medical condition that may have caused reddening of the palms.The most common cause for palmar erythama is high blood pressure. The disease may also be related to liver disease including liver carcinoma, hepatitis and cirrhosis. Pregnant women are also prone to this disorder.
