Uveitis

 

Uveitis is a disease of eye. In between the sclera and retina there exists a middle layer of the eye which is known as uvea or the uveal track. It supplies blood to the retina. The irritation of the uvea is called uveitis. It is also known as Iritis. There are different types of Uveities like Anterior, Intermediate, Posterior and Panuveitic forms. It can cause loss of vision or blindness. It is generally seen in young and middle aged persons. The several causes by which uveitis can be caused are psoriasis, infections to toxins, rheumatoid arthritis, AIDS, syphilis, tuberculosis, herpes etc.
